Manage yourself to manage your classroom
This course is targeted specifically at those working in the field of education. Against a backdrop of the kind of constant top-down pressure that keeps you awake at night, and the ever-present struggle to keep track of new government and school initiatives, the only thing you can ever truly control is your own response to your (undoubtedly challenging) context.
To help with this, you will learn some powerful models from Transactional Analysis (TA) and their relevance to you as an educator. You will also become fully conversant with Susannah Temple’s Functional Fluency Model, which draws from the fields of TA and Emotional Intelligence. As human beings, we each have a range of strengths that we can rely on, but sometimes we forget, or indeed never learn, what our own particular blend of positive behaviours is in any given situation. If only you knew, you could save wasted energy and avoid having to constantly ask yourself, ‘Why am I doing this again when it’s clearly not working?’ Becoming more functionally fluent is the answer to this dilemma.
